Mahogany Pirate Sailboat Restoration

We would like to present the story and restoration of a Pirate sailboat that we refurbished using Mirka products distributed by us. (The products can be found at www.hajoapolo.hu.)

The mahogany Pirate was built around the early 1900s and, as we know, had a careful Hungarian owner for nearly 50–60 years, who also raced with it before it was eventually “lost.” During the restoration, the boat’s name became visible again — “Márta.” The burned-in numbers in the centerboard case and foot grates are also clearly visible.

After a complete restoration — including Harken fittings and North Sails rigging — the boat once again found a devoted and careful owner.
