A few days ago, we received a request from one of our clients to repair their RIB boat made of Valmex material, which had been damaged at sea. A storm had struck in the harbor, breaking the underwater section against the rocks and also damaging the part above the waterline.
We re-laminated and gel-coated the keel and the planing surface. At the client’s request, we sanded the surface with the MIRKA Deros sander and Abranet sanding mesh, which we distribute. After sanding, we polished it with Mirka Polarshine 35 polishing compound.
The Valmex hull material was prepared with a MIRKA 120 grit abrasive sponge, then finished with Mirka Polarshine 35 as well.
The results are clearly visible in the photos. Our client even asked which one was their boat… apparently, the job didn’t turn out so badly.
